Non violent games for kids

5 Non-Violent Games for Your Kids to Play

Hi! I’m Blaiz, I’m a 13-year-old computer programmer by day and gamer by night and today I’m gonna let you know about a bunch of awesome, cool & non-violent games that your kids can play without your need to worry!

I’m sure that you are all familiar with this game by now so I’m going to keep this explanation short & sweet. For those of you who haven’t heard of it, Minecraft is a game where you can design just about anything, from building your own unique new worlds, to designing castles and houses to developing engineering feats such as flushing toilets. You can even raise pets & build things with red stone. Red stone is a resource that allows you to build machines and contraptions and even a working computer.

The core elements are mostly building, crafting and mining but it depends on how the game is played and on the creativity of the player, so that makes the sky the limit quite literally…you see there is a 256 block limit for building skies. Once the player has completed everything in the base game there are still millions upon millions of mods out there so the game is never truly finished.

Wonder if there’s anything to worry about in this game? Well, the worst things you can do is loot the dangerous underworld, defend yourself from mobs/enemies or beat the Ender Dragon. It’s kinda like St George & the Dragon.

Kerbal Space Program
Kerbal Space Program

Kerbal Space Program (KSP) is a game where you build your own rocket ships and space planes to discover and conquer the solar system. The planets have goofy names and the game has a lot of incredibly funny bugs that are hiding in the code.

This game is basically an extremely basic introduction to rocket science, aerodynamics and how orbits work. The game is a laugh and very fun to watch as rockets go flying about in the air and crash into the ground. BUT that is not all, there is an interplanetary system as well! Why stop at Earth when you can crash your ship into Mars!!!

Steep is a really cool game in more ways than one. You see, it’s all about winter and mountain sports played in the Alps.

In this game, there are 4 different sports to play… well, make that five if you include walking.

Sport #1: Snowboarding: a pretty fun and standard sport where you can do tricks.

Sport number #2: Skiing: this sport is basically snowboarding but you split the board in half and grab some sticks while avoiding obstacles.

Sport #3: Squirrel suit: ever wanted to know what its like to be a flying squirrel? Use the squirrel suit.

Sport # 4: Para-gliding: here you can sail through the air and do some pretty sweet backflips.

By the way, please don’t try any of these sports to such an extreme extent in real life because trust me, you won’t survive falling 50 meters and landing on a rock.

Portal 2
Portal 2

Portal 2 is quite an old game but still so much fun! Portal 2 is all about solving puzzles and gets you thinking about where you can place your portals.

Portal 2 has an interesting story line surrounding your character in single player mode, and yes you guessed it; there is also a multiplayer option! Multiplayer is just as fun as single player and places you inside the body of a robot. The robots need to figure out the puzzles together and you can even steal your friend’s robot head without witnessing any gory blood-scenes or anything – just as a joke, you know.

It’s a really cool game and by far one of my favourites out there.

Fire watch is a beautiful game where you enter a diverse story line created by the choices you make before the game. The game develops into a three-hour adventure while you are exploring this beautiful world. There is also a mystery aspect to this game like where did these people disappear to? Who is that? What does she look like? And the list goes on… the game really is beautiful and you should try it for yourself …seriously, it really is beautiful.

Well, there you have 5 games that are not that violent for your kids to play! And if you are looking for a fabulous gaming console to play on, check out the Aspen console!

I’m Blaiz and that’s it for today, goodbye!
